Women workers and children inside the Western Knitting Mills, ca. 1917. The Western Knitting Mill opened in 1844 and served under this name until the 1920s. At that time it became the Rochester Textile Mills and has had many owners since that time. In 1998, it became home to the Rochester Mills Beer Company, the Rochester Eccentric Newspaper, and many others.
