Morris' husband writes to Street for her, saying that she does not believe John Wilkes Booth survived. He tells how Morris spoke positively of Booth and was thanked by Edwin Booth, and that someone wrote to her, saying that Booth was alive and would meet her in New York on a certain day, but no one appeared on that day. He continues, that two actors saw Booth's body, and one cut a lock of hair from it, and promised it to Morris. He concludes that they believe these men.
